Wire Mesh Blast Cleaning Machines

What is a Wire Mesh Blast Cleaning Machine and What Does It Do?

The wire mesh blast cleaning machine is an automatic, high-efficiency surface treatment equipment designed for cleaning, roughening, and preparing the surfaces of flat, thin-walled, and delicate metal parts. It is widely used in industries such as foundry, automotive, aerospace, and metalworking. The machine effectively removes rust, scale, burrs, and other surface defects from aluminum and iron alloy parts, ensuring the required surface quality before painting, coating, or assembly.

How Does It Work?

The machine operates on the principle of placing parts onto a steel mesh belt, which carries them into the machine and moves them forward in a defined cycle while their surfaces are abraded with steel shots. The steel shots, propelled by high-speed turbines, strike the surfaces of the parts, removing dirt, rust, and surface irregularities.

During this process, the parts are not stationary; they move along the belt to ensure that all surfaces are processed evenly. The abrasive material is collected in a hopper beneath the machine, filtered, and reused—providing both material savings and environmentally friendly production.

Areas of Use and Suitable Part Types

Wire mesh blast cleaning machines are widely used in the automotive, aerospace, foundry, metalworking, and construction industries. They are particularly ideal for cleaning and preparing the surfaces of flat, thin-walled, and delicate metal parts. By ensuring high-quality surface preparation, these machines enhance the efficiency of subsequent painting or coating processes.
